AI Fundamentals for Business & Workforce Transformation™ · One day · Live virtual

Awareness is knowing what AI is. Readiness is knowing what to do with it on Monday.

Six and a half hours to understand how AI actually works, learn to work alongside it in six roles rather than only prompting it, and score exactly where it belongs in your own job. You leave with a readiness score measured against where you started.

Wednesday, November 18 · 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern · $695, or $575 when you book by Wednesday, October 28

Every activity has a solo path and a team path. No licenses required, and no technical background.

Who this is for

You do not need to see yourself in every line. One is enough.

  • You are new to AI and want structure rather than another article about it.
  • You work solo, consult, or run your own practice, and want to use AI responsibly in it.
  • You manage or lead a team and need the vocabulary to guide how they use it.
  • You support AI-enabled initiatives and want shared language for the conversations you are already in.
  • You work in HR, finance, operations, administration, or customer service and want to know where AI genuinely fits.
  • You influence how work gets done without managing anyone, and want the same standing in the conversation.
  • Your organization is about to buy licenses and you want a foundation first.

And who it is not for

  • You have never opened an AI tool. AI for Everyone Foundations™ is the better starting point and costs less.
  • You want depth in one platform. That is the Claude or Microsoft Copilot Business Productivity Accelerator™.
  • You want to build automations or workflows. That is the AI Workflow & Automation Accelerator™.
  • You want a shared team workspace with governed sources. That is Claude Projects & Business Brain Builder™.

The promise

In one day you will understand how AI actually works well enough to use it intelligently, learn to work alongside it in six distinct roles rather than only prompting it, score the AI opportunities in your own work, establish what is safe to put in and what needs a person to approve, and leave with a measured readiness score and a thirty-day plan.

How this differs from AI for Everyone Foundations™

A fair question, and the answer is specific. Foundations teaches you to use AI. This course teaches you how it works well enough to judge it, how to work alongside it, and where it belongs in your job.

What you will be able to do

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Explain how AI actually produces an answer, using tokens, context, and training in plain language, so you can predict where it will be strong and where it will need you.
  • Recognize why AI states incorrect information confidently, and identify the three signals that an answer deserves a second look.
  • Work alongside AI in six distinct roles, including as a coach, an analyst, and a thought partner, rather than only as a text generator.
  • Write structured prompts using the START™ method that produce work-quality output on the first attempt.
  • Apply a ninety-second review to check accuracy, assumptions, tone, sensitivity, and business fit before AI output is used.
  • Score AI opportunities in your own role by value, risk, effort, readiness, and human review need, and select the one to act on first.
  • Classify information as safe to use, requiring approval, or never appropriate to enter, and explain the reasoning to a colleague.
  • Recognize where AI is already being used informally in your work environment, and why shared guidance is safer than silence.
  • Create AI use rules for yourself or your team that are specific enough to follow.
  • Build a thirty-day readiness plan with weekly actions, a practice habit, and the measures you will watch.
  • Explain which parts of your role AI is likely to change, and which human capabilities become more valuable as it does.

Where you will use it

You bring three recurring tasks. They usually come from one of these.

Communication

Difficult messages, client correspondence, briefings, and tone adjusted for a specific reader.

Documents and reporting

Summarization, first drafts from source material, version comparison, and recurring reports.

Research and analysis

Sourced synthesis, comparing options, and questions asked of a spreadsheet in plain language.

Meetings and planning

Notes turned into decisions and dated actions, project outlines, and decision briefs.

HR and people work

Policy summaries, job aids, onboarding material, and carefully worded communication.

Thinking work

Pressure-testing an argument, finding what a plan is missing, and rehearsing a difficult conversation.

9:00
What AI Is Actually Doing in Your Workplace Right Now
Separate what is real from what is noise, and see where AI already sits in your work. The day opens with the same task produced three ways: by a person, by AI, and by a person working with AI.
10:05
How AI Actually Thinks
Understand enough about how AI works to use it intelligently, with no code and no jargon. Tokens, context, memory, reasoning models, and why it sometimes states things incorrectly.
11:10
Break
Fifteen minutes
11:25
The New Skill: Working Alongside AI
Move beyond asking questions. AI as assistant, coach, analyst, researcher, thought partner, and simulator, plus the START™ prompt card.
12:30
Lunch
Thirty minutes
1:00
Where AI Belongs in Your Work
Score the AI opportunities in your own role and choose the one to act on first. The longest block of the day, and where literacy becomes a business decision.
2:10
Use It Safely and Know What to Check
Know what is safe to put in, what needs approval, and how to check what comes out. Two habits you can perform rather than principles you agree with.
3:10
Break
Fifteen minutes
3:25
Future-Proof Your Role, and Your Next Thirty Days
Understand what changes in your work, what becomes more valuable, and what you do next. Ends with your readiness score measured against where you started.

Use it safely, and know what to check

Responsible use taught as two habits you can perform rather than principles you agree with. You sort real examples into safe to use, approval needed, and never appropriate, then write use rules specific enough that another person could follow them.

  • Data classification: what is appropriate to use, what needs approval first, and who decides.
  • Privacy, security, and confidential information in everyday practice.
  • Copyright and ownership, in plain terms.
  • Bias and fairness, and where each shows up specifically in business output.
  • Accuracy and source checking.
  • Synthetic content, deepfakes, and how to verify something that looks legitimate.
  • Human review checkpoints for external, financial, HR, legal, and regulated work.
  • When to involve IT, security, privacy, records, or legal.

This course does not provide legal, records, compliance, or cybersecurity certification, and it does not certify an organization as compliant. It teaches you to recognize when to consult a specialist, and which specialist that is.

Questions

How long is the day?

Six and a half hours, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern, with two short breaks and a thirty-minute lunch.

How is this different from AI for Everyone Foundations?

Foundations teaches you to use AI. This course teaches you how AI works well enough to judge it, how to work alongside it in six roles, and where it belongs in your own job, with a readiness score you can show somebody.

Do I need to be technical?

No. There is no code in this course, and the section on how AI works is taught without mathematics.

Do I need to buy licenses first?

No, and that is rather the point. Free tiers are sufficient, and the course is deliberately tool-independent so nothing depends on a purchase you have not made.

Which AI tool do you teach?

Whichever one you already use, or the one your organization has approved. We demonstrate the main assistants so you recognize the differences that matter, then everyone practices in the tool they actually have. A free tier is sufficient.

What is the pre-work?

The AI Readiness Snapshot, three recurring tasks from your own work, and a short note on where AI is already being used around you. About twenty minutes, sent two weeks ahead.

I do not manage a team. Is this still for me?

Yes. Every activity has a solo version and a team version, and you choose which applies. The portfolio, the use rules, and the plan all work for one person.

What if our policy prevents using real documents?

Practice material is supplied. Nothing in the day requires uploading anything sensitive, and the safety module covers exactly where that line sits.

Is the session recorded?

Yes, and it is yours for ninety days.

Does this carry PDUs?

The day provides 6.5 structured learning hours you may self-report to PMI through CCRS. Novativ AI Academy is not a PMI Authorized Training Partner, hours are not automatically reported, and acceptance is at PMI's discretion.

Can you run this privately for our department?

Yes. A department cohort includes the aggregate readiness summary, and the day is built around your own examples.

What should I take next?

It depends what the portfolio surfaces. Tool depth points to the Claude or Microsoft Copilot Accelerator. A shared team workspace points to Business Brain Builder. Work that should run without a person moving it points to the Workflow and Automation Accelerator.
